· Senior's, Women's, and Junior's Doubles Tournament

This year Senior’ s Women’ s and Junior’ s doubles tournament will be
held on March 6^th, 1999 at the Four Seasons Tennis Club. All levels of seniors,
women and juniors are encouraged to sign up for this fun event using the attached
registration form. The cost is $20 for members, and $25 for non-members. Note, members who
are 60 years old or more are eligible and welcome to register for the Senior's Doubles.
Junior's Doubles are categorized into two groups: Group A for those who are in senior high
school, and Group B for those in junior high/middle school. Please contact Huei-Hsiung

· Annual Meeting Party

The exciting WACTA annual meeting banquet will be held on March 13^th, 1999
at the Caren facility in Silver Spring, Maryland. It is a tradition that all WACTA members
get together every year to celebrate the past year and to elect the new WACTA President
and board members. Most importantly, it is party time! We will have food, music, dancing,
Karaoke and exciting door prizes! Come and join fellow WACTA members for a fun and
exciting evening!

Time: Check in at 6:30 PM, party starts at 7:00 PM, March 13, 1999.

Cost: (member) $15.00 per person, (non-member) $20 per person

Attire: Semi-formal

Deadline: 3/5/1999 (postmarked)

Directions: a.  Take capital beltway (I-495) exit 28-B (New Hampshire Avenue exit
toward Tokoma Park)

b.  Drive on New Hampshire Avenue and pass three traffic lights (Oakview, Adelphi,
Northampton).

c.  Left turn at the 4th traffic light (Metzerott).

d.   CAREN House is an 8-story building, on the right, in the middle of the
block.

· Membership Renewal Reminder for 1999

The annual membership will be due on March 31, 1999. The annual membership fee for a
single member is $10, for a family membership is $15. WACTA also offers a long term family
membership, which is $70 for 5 years. Please renew your membership before April 1^st
by using the form attached. If your e-mail, postal address, or your phone numbers have
changed, please indicate this on the form as well.

· Results of Shaw and Shaw Team Tennis

Once again this year, the WACTA Shaw and Shaw Team Tennis tournament was sponsored by
Mr. and Mrs. Shaw and was held on June 20^th at the Four Seasons Tennis Club in
Merrifield, VA. Eight teams participated in this fun annual event. Each Captain put in a
lot effort to make the evening enjoyable and highly competitive. Here again, we thank you,
Mr. and Mrs. Shaw, for your continued generous support of WACTA.

· Our Successful Men's Doubles Tournament

The Men’ s Doubles Tournament was held at the Four Seasons Tennis Club in Virginia
on December 19^th, 1998 and January 2^nd, 1999. The tournaments were
highly competitive, as always. We thank our the sponsors for the January 2^nd,
1999 3.5 and 4.5 Men’ s Doubles (ACTO Cup), American Citizens of Taiwan Origin, and
Equitable Insurance.

• Youth Tennis Program

We had a great success Youth Program past summer. The program was sponsored by Rho Psi
Foundation and managed by Biing-Hwan Lin. This year, WACTA’s Youth Tennis Program

• Volunteers Needed!

WACTA needs candidates for it’s Board of Directors, as well as members to serve on
